Tomasz Malasinski to depart the Swindon Wildcats for native Poland

The Swindon Wildcats have announced that Tomasz Malasinski has departed the club to return to his native Poland.

In 144 EPIHL league games, Malasinski amassed 111 goals, 112 assists for 223 points. As well as further seven goals in play-off competitions. Player/Coach Aaron Nell was undeniably sad to announce this news, but was quick to praise the impact the Polish international had on the side.

“We would obviously have loved Tomasz to stay in Swindon next season.” Nell said.

“He is a fantastic player and person and was a delight to have here. In the end we could not get in the way of Tomasz going to a higher league and back home to Poland, we would never stand in the way of any of our players progressing their careers.

"In my eyes, Tomasz was the best player we have had in Swindon since the Icelord days. He was a pleasure to play with and coach. We would like to thank him for his time in Swindon and wish him and Izabela the best of luck in the future.”

Malasinski himself had the following message for the Wildcats fans following his departure:

“I have a new challenge ahead of me and I would like to say thank you to all Wildcats fans and everyone at the club; my teammates, the coaches, the backroom staff and club owners for all your support during my time with the Swindon Wildcats.

This is not goodbye, it’s just a ‘see you later’” Malasinski added.
