Swindon Wildcats sign netminder Renny Marr

The Swindon Wildcats are "delighted" to announce Renny Marr as their new netminder, making the switch from the blue and white of Coventry Blaze for the red and white of the Swindon Wildcats.

Renny, a 19-year-old netminder, began his career in the Fife junior system before moving to Coventry in the summer of 2015 to take up the back-up job behind Brian Stewart. He impressed enough to earn a second year in Coventry last season.

Player Coach Aaron Nell was undoubtedly thrilled to have secured the services of one of the country's top net-minding prospects.

"I'm delighted Renny decided to come to Swindon as there were a lot of teams looking to sign him. He's one of the best young goalies in the country. I talked to a lot of people about him and all had good things to say about him as a goalie and person. Renny is hungry and can't wait to get started."

Renny, who has represented Great Britain at U18 and U20 level, is thrilled to be joining the Wildcats organisation for the coming season and had the following to say:

“I am excited to now be a member of the Swindon Wildcats. The move for me was very appealing after Aaron gave me a call and explained how the organisation is run and how great an opportunity it was to play in Swindon.

"After spending 2 seasons in Coventry as a back-up I feel that I need the chance to play and to progress as a goalie. Swindon is definitely a great opportunity for myself.

"I am looking forward to get the season underway and play in front of the fans and of course have a successful season."
