Swindon Town enquire about the availability of QPR's Osman Kakay

Despite having the loan quota of five for a matchday squad, Swindon may bring another temporary face to the club in the shape of QPR's Osman Kakay.

The Kilbury Times have been told by Queens Park Rangers director of football Les Ferdinand that a number of clubs are keen on the right-back and that discussions are being had with Swindon.

Swindon currently have five players on loan - Lloyd Jones (Liverpool) and Ben Gladwin (QPR) as well as Charlie Colkett, Fankaty Dabo and Islam Feruz (all Chelsea) which means that if any more players sign on a loan deal, one of the aforementioned five would not be allowed to be named in a matchday squad of 18.

Speaking to the Kilbury Times, Ferdinand said: “There’s a couple of clubs interested in Osman at the minute.

“I need to speak with Swindon about it, as I know they’ve got their full quota of loan players, and this loan would be about getting more game time for him.

“They’ve shown an interest though, so we’ll see what happens there.”

Kakay is 19-years-old and has made one senior league appearance for QPR. His only loan spell away from the club was at Scottish club Livingstone, where he played 10 league matches.

The January transfer window closes on the 31st at 11pm. Clubs in the Football League cannot loan or buy players from other clubs after that date and time.
