Swindon Town bring in Bradford City striker on loan

Swindon Town have completed the signing of striker Jake Young on a season long loan deal from League Two rivals Bradford City. Total Sport’s Joe Acklam reports on the new signing.

Young came through the youth ranks at Guiseley and Sheffield United before moving to Forest Green Rovers and making his senior debut for the Nailsworth club.

Following two seasons at The New Lawn, Young moved back to Yorkshire to join Bradford City last summer, scoring twice in seven appearances before moving on loan to Barrow in the latter half of last season.

Alongside being a footballer, during his youth Young was also a strong tennis player, competing in national tournaments at under-15 and under-16 level.

Speaking to club media, he said: “I'm buzzing to get the deal done.

"It's a club that I played at previous times and it's always been somewhere that's left an impression on me.

"I remember playing here a couple of seasons ago when Swindon beat Forest Green and I remember the fans were just brilliant, the stadium was bouncing and definitely, something that attracted me here.

"So, I'm just delighted to get the deal over the line and can't wait to get started!"
