Swindon sign Morecambe striker Paul Mullin for undisclosed fee

Swindon Town have added Morecambe's Paul Mullin to their ranks, as the striker has joined the Robins for an undisclosed fee.

Mullin, who is 22, has been at Morecambe since 2014 and he scored 17 league goals in 82 appearances for the Shrimpers.

The striker has signed a two-year deal at the County Ground.

He began his career at Liverpool before moving on to Huddersfield Town, but he failed to make a league outing for either.

Speaking of his signing, Mullin told the Swindon Town website: “I’m made up to be here. It is a massive club.

“I’m just made up to have got it all done so that I can get ready for pre-season and the new campaign.

“The move came about very fast to be fair. I spoke to the gaffer a couple of days ago and we got it over the line very quickly thankfully.

“From the first moment I spoke to the gaffer and he outlined what he wants from the club and what direction he wants to take us in, which is to get promotion.

“He’s going to base all of that on hard work and everyone coming together, including the fans which will help us.

“The new gaffer has given everyone a lift, the club seems to be on the up again and promotion is obviously the aim.”

Mullin has spent the last few seasons with Morecambe and he’s now looking forward to a fresh start.

“I had a great three years with Morecambe. It was an invaluable experience,” he added.

“Coming to a bigger club like this is great and everything is bigger, the town is bigger and there are more fans so there is going to be pressure.

“I’m relishing it and I can’t wait to start.”
