Despite Supermarine coming very close to scoring after Craig Curtis' chance effort from 25 yards out, the teams hopes of a goal were dashed after the defender's shot clipped the outside of the woodwork; narrowly missing the goal. Rob Dean proved to be a thorn in the side for the City backline, however many of his attempts sped across the middle of the area evading his teammates. Following a scrappy affair between both sides Gloucester City's Scott Wilson sprinted down the right, slid through the defence to find Groves, who tapped in the ball to secure their win.
