Revenge on the cards: Swindon Robins vs Poole Pirates preview

Swindon Robins will look to bounce back from their Good Friday disappointment to earn their first Elite League win of the season against Poole at the Abbey later today.

The M&S Van Rental Robins suffered a heavy 61-31 defeat at the hands of the powerful Pirates at Wimborne Road in their opening meeting of the campaign.

However, team boss Alun Rossiter has called on his side to issue a response as they look to gain instant revenge on home soil.

Rossiter said: "We are looking for a quick response from the boys, and I’m sure we are going to get it.
"We know we are capable of doing much better than that, so hopefully we just put that behind us, making some much better starts and come away with our first win of the season."

Both sides will be at full strength, with Poole led by 2012 World Champion Chris Holder and featuring former Swindon star Hans Andersen.

For the Robins, Jason Doyle, Josh Grajczonek and Rohan Tungate will all be looking for big performances against their former club.

The race gets under way at 5.00pm.

Meanwhile, supporters should note that due to stadium work, the track shop has moved ahead of the new season.

It is now located in the Conservatory Bar under the main grandstand and beneath the middle bar. With lots of new products in stock plus more on their way in the coming weeks, supporters should be sure to pay a visit.

SWINDON: Jason Doyle, Justin Sedgmen, Josh Grajczonek, Rohan Tungate, Nick Morris, Stefan Nielsen, Charles Wright.

POOLE: Chris Holder, Brady Kurtz, Davey Watt, Hans Andersen, Krzysztof Buczkowski, Adam Ellis, Kyle Newman.
