PLAYER RATINGS: Swindon Town (1) v (1) Manchester United

Swindon Town endured a frustrating 1-1 draw aginst Manchester United Under-23's in their first pre-season friendly at the County Ground. Total Sport Swindon's Rajan Hothi gave his Robins player ratings following the match.

GK: Luke McCormick (6)

Was happy to play out from the back, but wasn't called into action often as Manchester United rarely threatened despite scoring from the penalty spot.

RB: Rob Hunt (6)

Wasn't involved too much as most of STFC's play focused on the left, but did enough when asked and defended well in one-on-one situations.

CB: Daniel Ballard (7)

The Arsenal loanee showed his composure plenty of times as he demonstrated his ability to pass out from the back, win challenges in the air and protect the goal of McCormick.

CB: Mathieu Baudry (8)

The Swindon skipper looked assured with the ball at his feet and helped the inexperienced Ballard through the game before being subbed off in the second half. A solid performance all round from the French central defender.

LB: Zeki Fryers (6)

Looked to get forward and be the attacking full-back Wellens desires. Isn't afraid to run at opposition defences which Town missed last season, but got caught out defensively at times.

CM: Adam May (7)

Played a key role in the high press game Town look to incorporate. Like Doughty, the Portsmouth loanee suits the high press system and he won the majority of his midfield battles before being replaced with half an hour left.

RM: Lloyd Isgrove (9)

Good interchanges in play, found pockets of space well and broke the deadlock with a fantastic strike. The trialist was also able to show off an array of skills to impress the home fans. Isgrove was Swindon's biggest threat as the United defence found it difficult to contain the 26-year-old and Wellens will be keen to signature his signature if the midfielder keeps impressing.

LM: Paul Anderson (5)

Might feel disappointed to not have put Town 2-0 up after he snatched at his opportunity after just 20 minutes. Showed flashes of what he can offer, but also gave away the penalty which led to the visitors' equaliser.  A mixed performance from the STFC trials with it looking unlikely that he will be a player at Swindon for the upcoming season.

CM: Michael Doughty (8)

Won his fair share of midfield battles and was constantly trying to find Yates and Woolery up top as he showed his fantastic range of passing on several occasions. Tracked back well when required and will be happy with his performance despite not getting on the scoresheet.

ST: Jerry Yates (7)

Was a nuisance for the young United back-line throughout as he constantly pressed the defence resulting in panic for the Red Devils. Linked up well with Woolery at times but must improve in front of goal.

ST: Kaiyne Woolery (7)

Wellens looks keen to play Woolery up top next season as the 24-year-old showcased his blistering pace which threatened the United back-line. Had some nice interchanges with his strike partner Yates, but should've probably scored tonight.

Subs:

Tyler Reid (7) - Came on for Baudry who sustained an injury earlier in the half.   Had a few nice runs, and looked threatening at times.

Jordan Lyden (6) - Rarely threatened to create much due to limited game time. Reports suggesting he may have agreed a deal in principle with League Two rivals Oldham Athletic.

Tom Broadbent (6) -  Came on for the last 15 minutes, and made a good challenge near the end to keep it level. But apart from that, he had little to do.

Scott Twine (6) -  Like Broadbent, Twine came on for the last 15 minutes and didn't affect the game.

Brandon Thomas-Asante (7) - Went close in the last ten minutes as the trialist saw his strike whistle past the post. Looked lively when he came on, despite only being on the pitch for 15 minutes.

Taylor Curran (N/A) - Didn't have much time to affect the game.

George Newell (N/A) - Came on for Kaiyne Woolery in the last five minutes, but couldn't affect the game.
