PLAYER RATINGS: Swindon Town 0-1 Woking FC

SWINDON TOWN exited the FA Cup at the second round earlier today as non-league Woking held on to claim a well deserved one-nil away victory over Richie Wellen's side at The County Ground. TotalSport Swindon's Ryan Walker gives his Robins player ratings.

GK: Luke McCormick (6)

Back in the side and was left with little to do as Woking made the most of their few chances in front of goal. Was poor with his distribution as the pressure built in the games closing moments and will surely be replaced against Newport.

RB: Kyle Knoyle (5)

Enjoyed plenty of the ball when pushing on from right-back but it was quantity over quality as deliveries often went astray. Was too easily brushed past by John Casey who’s cross resulted in the games only game.

CB: Olly Lancashire (5)

Making his first start under Richie Wellens, Olly Lancashire endured a lacklustre showing against an opponent who had very little of the ball. Should’ve easily dealt with the cross from Casey that assisted the goal and is likely to start on the bench in the next game.

CB: Luke Woolfenden (5)

Lacked in his usual quality when bringing the ball out from defence and was often too slow when playing the ball out from the back. Won his aerial battles well but struggled with the counter-attacking pace of Woking.

LB: Ellis Iandolo (7)

Once again featuring in his new position as left-back, Iandolo was one of the few players who were a threat in attack for Swindon. Got down the left-wing well throughout and was aggressive in winning the ball back.

Was willing to take shots on goal in positions where others preferred to pass. A good performance in an otherwise disappointing game.

RCM: Jak McCourt (3)

Disappointed on his return to the first team and was wasteful with long balls. Looked slow on the ball and failed to make the most of his opportunity.  Had a stinging shot on goal in the 43rd minute but was withdrawn in the second half to no surprise.

CM: James Dunne (6)

Back in the side and was one of few players who appeared to try until the very end. Won the ball back countless times and drove forward well to try and get Swindon on the front foot. Ran constantly but lacked in support in the midfield areas.

RM: Michael Doughty (6)

Was poor with set-piece deliveries throughout and too often opted for a complicated pass when the simple option would’ve proved more beneficial.

Should’ve scored in the 83rd minute but his shot was saved well by the oncoming Craig Ross. Ran out of energy in the games dying minutes and was well managed by an opposition defence that he should’ve easily unlocked.

LM: Steven Alzate (5)

Enjoyed lots of the ball in attacking areas but too frequently took to long on the ball in the final third.

Lost the ball too often when on the wing and was poor with his decision making in key areas. A disappointing afternoon for the youngster.

LM: Scott Twine (5)

Brilliant against Stevenage, youth product Scott Twine was mediocre against Woking. Starting on the left wing before switching to the right in the second half saw the attacker miss Swindon’s best opportunity of the math in the 66th minute.

Unmarked in the middle of Woking’s box, Adebayo cut the ball back for Twine who was left with the goal gaping only for the 19-year-old to fail to get the ball out from under his feet as Jack Cook cleared.

Tried to increase the tempo for Swindon but struggled against the non-league side.

ST: Sol Pryce (4)

After scoring two goals on his senior debut in the mid-week, Sol Pryce endured a difficult match against Woking.

Isolated on his own up front, Pryce failed to work the opposition's defenders and was easily manhandled off the ball by the strength of Woking’s centre-back partnership. Subbed off early on in the second half and will be quick to forget this match.

SUBSTITUTIONS:

Elijah Adebayo (6)

Brought energy to Swindon’s attack when introduced and looked to have set-up an equaliser with his cutback for Twine late on. Made good runs in behind but didn’t have enough time to make a big enough impact.

Keshi Anderson (N/A)

Didn’t start due to a hamstring injury picked up in training but used his pace to cause problems when brought on.

Matty Taylor (N/A)

Introduced very late on in the game and blasted his free-kick from 30 yards out well over the bar.
