PLAYER RATINGS: Forest Green Rovers (2) v (2) Swindon Town

SWINDON TOWN surrendered a two-goal lead as Forest Green Rovers struck late to draw 2-2 at The New Lawn this afternoon. Total Sport Swindon's Ryan Walker gives his Robins player ratings following the match.

GK: Steven Benda (7.5)

Pulled off some big saves in the second half to deny Forest Green’s attackers. Was brilliant with his distribution all game and displayed good awareness to act as a sweeper keeper.

RB: Paul Caddis (6.5)

Got forward well and delivered some decent crosses into the opposition box but at times struggled defensively against the pace of Rover's wingers. Delivery from set-pieces was poor however.

CB: Mathieu Baudry (C) (7)

Baudry has improved massively over the past few months and his defensive contribution was evident for all to see today. Commanded the Swindon backline well and was strong in the air when contesting for high balls. Almost scored with a header on target in the 70th minute that forced a great save from Smith.

CB: Zeki Fryers (7)

Brought the ball out from defence well and displayed great reading of the game to make some crucial last-ditch tackles and interceptions when Rovers were threatening. Has formed a solid relationship with Baudry at the heart of the Town defence.

LB: Rob Hunt (6)

Was a threat down the left-wing all afternoon linking up with Yates to great effect but was caught out in defence at times. Was slow to get out to opposition wingers which put Swindon under pressure in the latter stages of the game. A mixed performance from the full-back.

CM: Anthony Grant (8)

Bossed the midfield once again with his physicality instrumental in winning possession back for Swindon. Carried the ball forward well but was at times limited by a lack of movement in front of him. Grant’s loan deal is set to expire in January but it is crucial Swindon keep him for the season.

LM: Michael Doughty (7)

Cut a composed figure in the heart of the Swindon midfield and worked well in close spaces to create openings in the Rovers defence. Managed the game well and was a constant threat in the first-half but dwindled a bit in the second period of play before being withdrawn.

LM: Keshi Anderson (7)

Back in the starting lineup after returning from injury and endured a bright sixty minutes before fatigue started to creep into his game. Wanted to get on the ball as much as possible and was a constant thorn to the Rovers defenders in the first half as he kept popping up in various attacking positions. A good performance on his return from injury.

RW: Kaiyne Woolery (7)

Utilised his pace well to get down the right-wing and deliver a good cross into Doyle for the opening goal and was a big attacking threat throughout the course of the ninety minutes. However despite impressing in attack, Woolery failed to track back in the closing stages of the game and must carry out his defensive duties better.

ST: Eoin Doyle (8.5)

Took his goals tally to 21 for the season after scoring a well-taken brace at The New Lawn. Scored a simple tap-in to open the scoring before firing past Smith with a powerful finish to score his second. Doyle has now scored in ten consecutive matches and is now the record holder for the most amount of goals scored in the shortest period of time in League Two.

LW: Jerry Yates (6.5)

Not his best performance, but a solid display from Yates saw him threaten down the left-wing as Swindon strived for their eighth straight win. Should’ve scored in the 19th minute after being played through one v one but made the wrong decision as he opted to chip to Doyle at the back-post instead of shooting.

SUBSTITUTIONS:

Danny Rose (6)

Broke play up well when came on in the second half but offered little in attack.

Ellis Iandolo (N/A)

Introduced very late on and didn’t have time to make an impact.

Diallang Jaiyesimi (N/A)

Brought on with little time remaining and could do little to alter the final result.
