MATCH PREVIEW | Accrington Stanley vs Swindon Town
Swindon look to take on Accrington Stanley under the lights tomorrow evening hoping to find a win on the road.
Town found their first win in over a month at the weekend against title-challenging Mansfield; so can they make it two wins on the bounce?
The win over Mansfield has already gone a long way to heal the divide between the club and the fans. But a tricky away day stands in the way of adding another win in as many days. Through their tough run of form, Swindon’s away form had gone under the radar but now they are back to winning ways at home the results on the road must also improve.
With just one away win all season, Swindon will need another strong performance in both halves to come away with the three points. Accrington have been strong at home with a win over Wrexham last time out.
Finding the away form
It's not an understatement to say Swindon have not been a good side when away from home having picked up only eight points on their travels. Having lost three of their last five games on the road Swindon will need to turn around their lackluster away performances.
Their last away game saw them earn a point at Harrogate. Hopefully, the squad will be full of confidence following their victory over Mansfield. Strong performances from Jake Young who has completely refound his early season form and a staggering defensive display from youngster Harrison Minturn will be big boosts going into the game tomorrow night.
But what can Swindon expect from the hosts?
Opposition Analysis
Accrington have been very inconsistent as of late. In early October, they went on a run of wins disposing of Forest Green, Grimsby, MK Dons and Wimbledon before losing two on the bounce. A win against Wrexham and then a loss to Bradford means Accrington have lost three of their last five games.
Match Prediction
Swindon’s win over Mansfield will have done the players a world of good, ending a horrific run of form and toppling a side that had not tasted defeat all season. Winning at home is one thing but away will be a whole different story.
