Jason Doyle delighted at "big win" for Swindon Robins

After racing to an impressive 57-33 home victory on Thursday night, the Swindon Robins are within touching distance of the playoffs. TotalSport Swindon’s Ryan Walker got the reaction of captain Jason Doyle following the action.

A dominant display see’s the Robins move onto 47 points for the season so far, but with just one point needed to secure their playoff position, Doyle insists the team are fully focused.

“It was a big win and we’ve done what we needed to do tonight.” Doyle began.

“It’s going to be a tough task to get a point out of our last two meetings but hopefully we can get there.

“It was a good night for all the boys and it was nice to see Nick scoring a full maximum and then Josh doing a great job with his team riding.” He added.

“If we’ve got a team like that coming up to the playoffs then I think we have got a good chance.

“We need to get the reserves cracking on with some good racing because they are struggling a bit at the minute with bike setup and it seems one of them is always breaking down.

“We need our reserves the most in the playoffs.” 

With two away meetings left Doyle knows it wont be easy for his side to pick up that crucial point on the road, and tells TotalSport Swindon that the Belle Vue meeting may be Swindon’s best opportunity.

“It’s going to be tough but I think we need to pick the best one to get a point out of.” Explained Doyle.

"We’re going to go and give it our all at Belle Vue.

“It’s going to be very difficult but last time we went there it was a great victory for us.” He said.

“Rohan was at reserve then and scored a full 18.

“That’s what’s going to make us or break us in the playoffs I think and we need to get everyone firing at the same time.

“Hopefully we can do something special.” He added.
