David Flitcroft hopes "goals will flow" for Kaiyne Woolery after his goal in Swindon Town's defeat to Colchester

David Flitcroft is hopeful Kaiyne Woolery will become a more regular scorer for Swindon Town after the forward netted his first league goal in four months on Friday.

Woolery made it 1-0 against Colchester with a composed finish for what was his first league goal since August 12 in a 1-1 home draw against Exeter - the first home game of the 2017-18 season.

The forward, who joined Town from Wigan for £350,000 in the summer, has one other Swindon goal to his name: the fourth in Swindon's 4-2 win at Bristol Rovers in the EFL Trophy.

Last season, Woolery was on loan at then-National League side Forest Green, and his career highlight to date came at the Vegan club, as he scored a brace in the 3-1 play-off final against Tranmere.

Forest Green jostled for his signature in the summer too, but Woolery opted for Swindon instead and penned a three-year deal at the County Ground.

Despite struggling to find a regular goal-scoring touch up to this point, Woolery is beginning to find his feet now and Flitcroft hopes the 22-year-old will find himself on the scoresheet on a more regular basis going forward.

Speaking after the match, Flitcroft said:"It's not as that he's had a difficult start, it's just that early season with the form of Luke Norris and Paul Mullin scoring goals, I was quite happy with the way they were turning out.

"Kaiyne has been training well, he's stuck with it, he's quite pro-active with his goal and he's put it away quite well.

"He looked threatening against Forest Green so things are certainly sinking in and he's had a touch more gametime than he has lately and hopefully the goals will flow."
