Boavista confirm the signing of former Swindon Town defender Raphael Rossi-Branco

Raphael Rossi-Branco has rejected a contract offer from Swindon Town, in order to join Portuguese club Boavista.

Reports from Portugal linked defender Branco to Boavista earlier this week and the confirmation has been made by the Panthers today.

He joined Swindon from non-league Whitehawk in 2013 and has always been a semi-regular for Town, playing a part in both the 2015 play-off final season, as well as last season's relegation from League One.

The Brazilian played over 100 times for Town and scored six goals.

Due to Branco being out of contract, Swindon Town will not and did not get a fee from Boavista, who finished ninth in the top flight of Portuguese football last season.

Branco has signed a two-year deal at Boavista.
