Blackpool boss Gary Bowyer cools link to Swindon Town position
Gary Bowyer, the manager of Blackpool, has played down talk he is about to take over the reigns at Swindon Town, in a radio interview with BBC Lancashire.
Bowyer led current team Blackpool to promotion via the League Two play-off final on Sunday, defeating Exeter 2-1, while Swindon have just been relegated to the fourth tier, but that has not stopped the ex-Blackburn chief appearing in the bookie odds for the role at the County Ground.
The 45-year-old, who has been at Blackpool since last June, is out of contract at Bloomfield Road in the summer as in 2016 he only signed a one-year rolling contract at the Seasiders.
He insists his future remains at the Tangerines though, as he told BBC Lancashire: "I've got a contract at Blackpool and the club have been very good to me. I was out of work and they gave me the opportunity, so I will be going into work (at Blackpool) tomorrow."
Bowyer then spoke about the need to improve Blackpool's playing squad ahead of their season in League One next year.
There has been no indication yet on when Swindon Town will hire their next manager, following Luke Williams' departure earlier this month.
Chairman Lee Power has gone on record to say there are three candidates on the shortlist, but did not divulgue on who the trio are.
