Havelock Square Farmer's Market Returns this Thursday

Selling great value, fresh local produce, inSwindon's new weekly Farmers’ Market kicks off in the town centre this Thursday.

Every Thursday, between 9am and 3pm shoppers will be able to sample and purchase an array of tasty local produce, including fresh vegetables, meats, cheeses, cakes and seasonal fruits.

As well as featuring a wide selection of Swindon based producers, the new market held in Havelock Square will also feature an exciting mix of guest retailers courtesy of Fresh ‘n’ Local.

Rebecca Rowland, BID Manager for inSwindon BID Company, commented: “we are delighted to announce the start of our weekly Havelock Square Market once again to the people of Swindon.

“This is a great opportunity to invite those who may not shop in the town to buy truly fresh and local produce right in the heart of the town centre.

“You’ll also have the chance to speak to the friendly stallholders who will readily offer tasting suggestions, recipes and serving advice to help you create exciting and fresh dishes made from the fields and farms of the county.”

Following the closure of the town centre’s previous market late last year, Council officials have since reviewed their decision and removed the street vendor ban that forced retailers to cease trading. 

Back in October, local traders and their customers were left heartbroken when a decision by Swindon Council meant that the town centre market could no longer take place in its current location.
