Headwear for women this winter is a massive trend. From beanies to bobble hats and fur headbands, they’re all in. The felt ‘pork pie’ is also proving to be a popular look amongst girls wanting to create a more sophisticated look this winter.

The waist has returned! Whether on a belted swing coat, a dress or a pencil skirt, the emphasis is on the waist. The fitted classic sheath style dress provides a much-needed antidote to the trapeze style dresses that we lived and died in during summer/autumn.

As prom style dresses slowly fade out as we make the transition to winter, no sooner have they been replaced with much edgier fitted styles. Winter frocks for winter 12/13 will remain comfortable with hemlines falling to just below the knee.

The colour pallet for women’s fashion this winter is simple and understated, with girls shying away from bright and bold prints and colours.

We do love a bit of winter footwear. Ranging from dark, thick soled laced shoes to winter boots, either heeled or flat we say buy them all. Another trend to watch is fur and leather, they are set to be huge this winter for women, with studs and sequins already popular on not just jackets but everything else from jeans to shoes.

Leopard print is also a massive trend, appearing on everything from accessories, shirts and leggings, so don’t be afraid to unleash your inner animal.

Baggy knitwear is also a popular choice. Nothing beats the cozy, wintery feel of a practical yet stylish winter jumper. Christmas sweaters with the traditional bright red and quirky motifs are always a great choice; we love a good reindeer or snowman design.

Fashion this season has definitely focused more on practicality but is still uber stylish none the less. We particularly love this look from Revolva in The Brunel above.
