inSwindon are responsible for transforming our town centre into the 21st century hub that it is today! Throughout the year they organise a number of fantastic events at Wharf Green enhancing and promoting all that we have to offer here in Swindon!

My Loyalty Card

Pizza Express, McDonald’s and Debenhams are just three of the big names taking part in the loyalty card scheme! Not only are you given exclusive discounts with independent local businesses, you also receive discount at loads of national chains too!

Going about getting a card is simple! All you have to do is ask any member of the inSwindon street team. And they’ll give you a free loyalty card there and then. You’ll usually see them wondering around the Town Centre wearing bright red t-shirts with the inSwindon logo on them, don’t be afraid to go and say hi!

The Olympics

Get ready to be gripped with Olympic fever! Throughout the two weeks of the games, Wharf Green will be fully equipped for you and your family to feel like you’re part of the London 2012 action 24/7!

Food and beverages will be available throughout the event as well as 24 hour seating and grass for you to set yourself up with a picnic and giant beanbags will also be available for your viewing pleasure!

So feel free to head on down and set up camp for as long as you like!

Events

Owned by Swindon Borough Council and managed by inSwindon BID, the area continues to be the focal point for major events in the town centre.

After enthralling audiences with both The Royal Wedding and Wimbledon, Wharf Green is set to do it all over again this summer with its coverage of the London Olympics! From the spectacle of the Opening Ceremony to the highs and lows of the sporting action, see it all on the Big Screen.

Expect plenty of live entertainment, food and activities all through July and August.

Shopping

Fancy a spot of retail therapy? The Parade and The Brunel are Swindon’s premiere shopping destinations! Both are within walking distance from the train and bus stations and with over 150 stores and restaurants between them, they’ll definitely have something for everyone’s shopping needs!

Whether you’re shopping for an outfit to wear out Saturday night or just out to grab a bite to eat with friends, Swindon Town Centre is home to a whole host of the UK’s leading retail names!

The newly refurbished Parade houses the likes of Topshop , River Island and Debenhams. Whereas The Forum, John Anthony and M&S can all be found in The Brunel Centre. Come rain or shine there’s no excuse to stay cooped up indoors! There are coffee shops and cafés aplenty so if you need a caffeine break in between shops, that’s won’t be a problem!

Parking

It’s only £2 for 4 hours! So even the most avid of shoppers can spend till your heart’s content and not have to worry about the time left on the car!

If you don't have a head for heights and don’t fancy driving around The Brunel multi-storey there are plenty of pay and display car parks nearby!

And for all our eco-friendly readers and the cyclists out there, Swindon Borough Council has recently introduced a new safe and secure place to leave your bike in the Town Centre. The Cycle Park is located on the ground floor of the Brunel car park, perfect for access to the shops or even offices close by!

Leisure

If your arms starting to ache from carrying all those bags and you need a little pick me up Swindon Town has some brilliant facilities for you to take advantage of! Choosing somewhere to eat and drink is all part of the shopping experience nowadays! Why not head over to The Brunel for a coffee and a cake or even swing by Fratello's for a light lunch?

The Wyvern Theatre and the Swindon Central Library are two hot spots, which always have something exciting going on!

If you’re after a tranquil shopping break you can even head out and find some local greenery, escape the hustle and bustle, grab a sandwich and take a well-deserved rest in one of the nearby parks! They’re only a 5 minute stroll away from the Town Centre! Who would of thought it?
