Swindon Wildcats lose at Peterborough Phantoms for second time this season

The Swindon Wildcats travelled to Peterborough for the second time this season on Sunday and, just like the last time they played the Phantoms away, they left without a win.

There were immediate signs of improvement, however, considering in the first meeting between the two at Planet Ice, the Wildcats were trounced 6-1.

It was 3-1 this time around but the Phantoms were in control throughout.

Owen Griffiths opened the scoring at 10:05 after good assist work by Ben Russell and Wehebe Darge and five minutes later the Phantoms doubled their lead.

The ever-dangerous Wehebe Darge went from assister to scorer to double Peterborough's lead at 15:24 with Griffiths providing the assist this time, along with James Archer.

Period two was scoreless, but the third and final period saw another two goals - first when Jonas Hoog netted goal number 501 for the Cats with his strike at 56:09.

Peterborough made sure of the win not long after though via Lithuanian Darius Pliskauskas.
