Broome Manor swings into action for annual Golf Week
Broome Manor Golf Complex is looking to benefit from golf tournament The Open this weekend, by enticing budding golfers to its annual Golf Week.
The course, owned and operated by Swindon Borough Council, will be hosting a week of activities between Monday 21st of July and Sunday 27th of July in a drive to promote the golf venue and introduce new golfers to the sport.
The week will feature a plethora of free coaching sessions, teaching people the basics of the swing including grip, posture, swing plane and follow-through.
The sessions are aimed at families, adults and seniors and will be held throughout the week. Family sessions have at least 1 adult and up to 3 children.
The course will host a nine-hole corporate Texas Scramble on Wednesday 23rd July.
On Saturday 26th of July there will be three junior coaching sessions from 9.30am to 10.15am, 10.30am to 11.15am and 11.30am to 12.15pm.
On the following day (27 July) there will be an adult and junior six-hole fun event, which starts at 11am. Children must have their own set of clubs and adults must have their own putters.
Swindon Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Corporate Services and Leisure, Cllr Keith Williams, said: “This is a great chance for children and adults to give golf a try, particularly if they have been inspired by The Open this weekend.
“The free coaching sessions are a perfect introduction to golf and the week-long programme of activities is a good way of seeing exactly what Broome Manor has to offer.”
