Swindon Town bring in Matt Preston as defensive cover
Swindon Town have announced that they have signed centre-back Matt Preston on a deal until the end of the season.
Preston has been signed due to the fact Dion Conroy could be out for the rest of the season with an ACL injury that was suffered in the 3-2 win over Stevenage.
Swindon were able to sign the 22-year-old Preston as free agent signings are permitted outside the closing of the transfer window.
He has made almost 50 appearances for Walsall and scored three goals for the Midlands-based side.
Preston also had a loan spell at Barwell in 2014.
He rejected a two-year extension to his Walsall contract this summer and could make his debut tomorrow night as Town host Coventry. Preston has been given the number four shirt.
