Holloway: I would pay to watch us right now
Boss Ian Holloway insisted he would pay his own money to watch his Swindon Town team at present.
The manager was speaking after Town pulled off a sublime comeback victory over Tranmere Rovers at the Nigel Eady County Ground.
After Josh Davison’s early strike for the visitors, Town trailed for 80 minutes despite Rovers seeing Cameron Norman sent off just past the hour mark.
But goals from Paul Glatzel (pictured), Harry Smith and Kabongo Tshimanga’s penalty turned the game on its head as Swindon sealed a 3-1 victory – their third win on the bounce.
Tranmere also had Declan Drysdale sent off late on to reduce them to nine men.
"I am just delighted that we managed to get the equaliser when we did because it gave us enough time to go on and win it,” Holloway said.
"The momentum was with us and anyone in football would have known that we deserved to win that game on the balance and we did that in the end.
"They are playing for the badge like a fan would and that is what I believe in and I would pay to watch us right now.”
Victory put Town 13 points clear of the relegation zone in League Two, sitting in 16th position.
The manager added: "I can't tell you how chuffed I am because on another day with another group of people, they might not have been strong enough to do that.
"If they can just stick to what we are saying and why we are saying it, when we were trying to be like Real Madrid.
"We aren't Real Madrid yet, what were we trying to do? I didn't recognise some of that stuff in the first half.
"We needed to keep it simple, give it to those players, and do your job back there.”
Town make the trip to take on Carlisle on Saturday (3pm).
