PLAYER RATINGS: Swindon Town 0-0 Cheltenham Town

SWINDON TOWN failed to impress in their last home game of the year as they struggled to a goalless draw against local rivals Cheltenham Town. Total Sport Swindon's Ryan Walker gives his Robins player ratings following the draw.

GK: Lawrence Vigouroux (7)

Collected aerial balls brilliantly and pulled off a fantastic save in the 72nd minute to stop Dunne’s sliced clearance going in. Distribution wasn’t as good as usual but a solid performance.

RB: Kyle Knoyle (5)

Sat back too deep in the first half and offered very little when going forward. Improved in the second half and started to support with overlapping runs on the right wing.

CB: Luke Woolfenden (6)

Struggled to deal with the pace of Cheltenham’s Alex Addai in the first half as the attacker continued to easily run past Woolfenden. Controlled his defensive areas well in the second half but should’ve done better with his volley on goal in the 80th minute.

CB: Sid Nelson (7)

Awarded man of the match and produced a solid display against a pacey attack. Won his aerial duels well and cleared crosses diligently. Another solid outing from the defender who Town will be desperate to keep till the end of the season.

LB: Ellis Iandolo (4)

Was wayward with his passing and lacked in quality when on the ball. Was caught in possession on multiple occasions and panicked when put under pressure.  A poor showing from the first team regular.

CDM: Matty Taylor © (6)

Produced some great pinpoint passing as usual but took too long on the ball in some circumstances when the ball needed clearing. Helped kick-start attacks in midfield with some intelligent passes but ran out of energy as the game went on.

RM: James Dunne (6)

Another good performance from Dunne who appeared one of the only Swindon players wanting to get on the ball in the first half. Ran tirelessly as always and was at the heart of the majority of Swindon’s attacks.

Should’ve done better with his chance on goal in the 61st minute when latching onto Adebayo’s cutback.

LM: Michael Doughty (5)

Didn’t have as much influence on the match as usual and offered little creative influence. Seemed to struggle with the pace of the game and was withdrawn in the second half.

RW: Kaiyne Woolery (5)

Failed to get on the ball enough in the first half but was the source of the majority of Swindon’s most threatening attacks in the second period of play. Was willing to take his man on made good runs in behind. Lacked the quality needed in the final third to unlock Cheltenham’s defence.

LW: Scott Twine (5)

Remained in the side following last week’s defeat to Grimsby and endured a difficult afternoon. Swapped wings throughout but didn’t offer enough threat when going forward. Nearly scored with a long-range effort that just didn’t dip enough.

ST: Elijah Adebayo (3)

Operated as the team's central striker and was easy to deal with by the Cheltenham defence. Was easily beaten in the air on nearly every occasion and failed to test the keeper enough. Wouldn’t be surprised if his loan deal were cut short.

SUBSTITUTIONS

Jermaine McGlashan (N/A)

Added much-needed energy to Swindon’s attack when brought on but didn’t have enough time to make a significant difference. Has impressed recently when coming off the bench and could make a return to the starting line-up soon.

Steven Alzate (N/A)

Came on late into the match and didn’t have time to make a big enough impact.
