Sam Bullas made it 1-0 to the Cats at 8:31 when he fired into the net after assists from Ben Nethersell and Phil Hill.

Almost immediately after it was 2-0, as Oliver Stone doubled the hosts' lead at 9:08, and he was assisted by Luc Johnson.

The Wildcats had to wait a bit longer for their third, however it was coming and eventually occured at 18:53 when Ben Nethersell scored a deflected effort after being assisted by Max Birbraer and Jordan Kelsall.

Swindon's hot scoring streak continued in period two, as just 22 seconds after the restart Stevie Whitfield netted an unassisted goal to end the contest before it had even begun.

It only got better for Swindon. Bullas scored his second of the evening at 23:40 and Chris Jones was the latest man to provide an assist for Aaron Nell's rampant side.

Max Birbraer made it 6-0 at 32:41 when he finished a fast counter-attacking move by Swindon as the Cardiff Fire failed with one of their few genuine chances at the Wildcats net.

Sam Zajac got in on the act at 50:26 when he let fly from distance and the puck sailed into the back of the net to make it seven for Swindon as the score never seemed to stop increasing.

Swindon had to settle for seven though and they have now won seven on the bounce.
