Jordan Kelsall's Overtime goal won a sensational game of hockey for the Swindon Wildcats at the Link Centre.

Sheffield scored early (at 6:44) to announce their intentions, with Macaulay Heywood sweeping the Steeldogs into the lead with Andy Hirst and Lewis Bell picking up assists.

Swindon did however level the scores, at 13:49, when one of the stars of the season, Tomasz Malasinski, finding the back of the net after assists from Lee Richardson and Adam Finlinson.

After the first period ended 1-1, Sheffield came out of the blocks in the second with two goals to open up a safe cushion before the third and final 20 minutes of the contest.

At 24:27 the Sheffield lead was restored by Arnoldas Bosas' goal, Liam Kirk credited to the assist this time along with Adrian Palak.

Donatas Kumeliauskas extended Sheffield's advantage to two goals when he scored at 31:11 after Kirk's second assist of the game, but the Wildcats roared back in the final period for a truly blockbuster finish.

Sam Bullas started the epic turnaround at 45:53 with Max Birbraer and Floyd Taylor playing their part in the build-up.

Jonas Hoog levelled the score with a fine strike at 48:21 and Birbraer got the assist again in what was an impressive creating display.

The roof at the Link Centre was well and truly raised at 51:24 when Malasinski got his second and Swindon's fourth to turn the game on its head - for the first time, anyway.

The Steeldogs still had some bite though and completed a comeback of their own.

Ashley Calvert tied the game up at 4-4 at 54:22 unassisted and before anyone had even blinked it was 5-4 to the visitors with Kumeliauskas getting his second of the match.

Wildcats refused to let the Dogs out without a fight though, Malasinski in particular was one Cat who got the cream as he bagged his hat-trick goal at 56:30 to drag it back to a staggering 5-5 scoreline.

Into overtime it went - and Jordan Kelsall was the hero for the Wildcats as he pounced on a rebounded effort to tuck home the dramatic winner that earned Swindon a 6-5 win.
