Aaron Nell takes positives from Swindon Wildcats' MK Lightning defeat

Swindon Wildcats Player/Head Coach Aaron Nell was left disappointed but upbeat following their 2-1 defeat against the MK Lightning on Wednesday night.

The Wildcats went 2-0 down against Milton Keynes and pulled a goal back through Nell but they could not get a positive result at the Link despite piling on the pressure until the very last second.

Despite the result though, Nell remained in good spirits and optimistic going forward, as he believes the Wildcats deserved to at least take the game into overtime.

"It was a very postive performance", Nell said.

"I think they came out hard and they are a good team but we battled back into the game and at the end they were hanging on.

"In the third period, yeah they had some good sperts because they are a good team, it is going to happen but I think for the last 15 minutes we were the better team.

"It was a great performance, it might have been our best game of the year, but we did not quite get the bounces, but we have got to take the positives out of it and be just as desperate and just as hard on Saturday night."

The Swindon Wildcats host Basingstoke (17:45) on Saturday before making the long trip to Sheffield the following day.
