Aaron Nell rues the Wildcats conceding early goals

Swindon Wildcats Head Coach Aaron Nell has been left disappointed with his team's knack of conceding early goals in the early stage of the season.

The Wildcats opened up their campaign with a 4-3 home loss against the Guildford Flames on Saturday and were then trounced 6-1 by the Peterborough Phantoms the following day.

In the Guildford defeat, Swindon found themselves 1-0 down after just 16 seconds and on the Sunday against Peterborough it was a similar story, as the Phantoms scored their first goal 53 seconds into the contest.

"It was especially disappointing (to concede so early) in the first (period) but that happens and that is part of hockey," Nell said.

With regards to the Guildford game specifically, Nell said:

"We could have really struggled after that but we didn't we regrouped and reacted and each period was just a good hockey game.

"Unfortunately we were on the losing side tonight."
