Snapped: Pride of Swindon Plaque Unveiled

Some of Swindon’s most inspirational community figures had their hard work recognised when a plaque was erected at Central Library on Friday.

Individuals and organisations who were acknowledged at March's Pride of Swindon Ceremony saw their names engraved on a plaque for all to see inside the literary hub.

The Pride of Swindon Awards recognise people who have made a difference to their community by helping others.

The awards cover a range of categories including; a volunteer who has given their time selflessly for years, a child or adult who has displayed remarkable courage and an inspiring teacher or a caring nurse or doctor, to name but a few. 

The thirteen individuals and five organisations who were honoured by Pride of Swindon were joined at the event by Shirley Ludford, the manager at community radio station, Swindon 105.5.
