Highworth Golf Centre Swings into Action for Open Day
A family fun day will aim to encourage more people to try golf in Highworth on Sunday 18th May.
Highworth Golf Centre’s free open day is open to all ages and will feature a pitch and splash as well as putting and chipping competitions for all the family.
For those looking to try out their swing, free taster sessions on the practice ground will also be available to give those taking part the full golf experience.
There will be a chance to book a slot with the course’s golf professional, Chas Pears, to help budding golfers get started or to improve their strokes. There will also be bacon butties and pasties available on the day at the Swindon Borough Council-run course.
Corina O’Keefe, Team Leader at Highworth Golf Centre, said: “The Open day will be a great opportunity for families to come along and see what Highworth Golf Centre has to offer.”
Aidon Watts, Chairman of Highworth Golf Club, said, “It’s a wonderful opportunity for everyone to get out and have some fun playing golf, hopefully in the sun.
“For those wanting to play a bit more, they can also get information on joining Highworth Golf Club, play in regular competitions and get an official handicap.”
For more information about the open day and for timings of the various sessions, call Highworth Golf Centre on 01793 766014.
