Free Training to Benefit Local Sports Clubs
Free business skills training will be on offer to local sports clubs as part of an initiative designed to support their future development.
Swindon Sports Forum, in partnership with Sport England’s Club Leaders programme, is holding the sessions throughout the next few months at Broome Manor Golf Complex.
The skills training is being supported by Swindon Borough Council’s Sports Development team and starts with a session on effective organisation structures on Tuesday 19th November. This is followed by guidance on understanding club finances on Tuesday 26th November.
The programme then takes a break for the festive season but returns in the new year with the following training workshops:
- Financial policies and procedures – 14 January 2014
- Cash flow and budgeting – 21 January 2014
- PAYE and employment status – 28 January 2014
- Developing a business plan – 4 February 2014
- Developing a marketing strategy – 11 February 2014
All the training courses run from 7pm until 9pm and refreshments can be purchased on the night.
Club representatives interested in attending any of the training events should contact James Moss at Voluntary Action Swindon by emailing: [email protected] or call 01793 538398.
