The Crown Hotel in Royal Wootton Bassett has announced its upcoming reopening and excitement from previous customers has begun.

There has not been an opening date confirmation from the owners - Stonegate, instead the pub teased via Facebook, "Re-opening soon! Watch this space." Despite the simple caption, there has been a flurry of enthusiastic responses, with eager patrons eagerly awaiting its doors to swing open once again.

One former Crown Hotel visitor commented “Fantastic news” while another wrote “Beautiful pub, can’t wait to see what’s been done to it”. The Crown Hotel was especially known for their regular performances by live bands which locals hope will return, following the reopening, with responses like “Fingers crossed for live bands”.

Online chatter persists, with estate agent Drake Property still listing the establishment as a "character property" nestled in the heart of Royal Wootton Bassett.

Steeped in history, the Grade II listed building was built in the 1700s and has been well-maintained with charming features such as a tranquil patio and lawn. Alongside the pub are an eatery and seven rooms for letting.
