RAF Brize Norton Helps Wider Community

On behalf of the Station, Major Leigh Jackson, OC of the Royal Engineers DCRE Unit has accepted two new storage sheds which will be used by the RAF Physical Education Flight.

These much needed sheds were procured by Turner Facilities Management and constructed by the local firm of Kingsland Construction.

This particular build is notable because the supplier and installer of the new sheds is SEQOL Enterprise Works.

SEQOL is a Social Enterprise company which provides people with the social and community healthcare they need. SEQOL Enterprise Works trains people with disabilities from within the community, including ex-Services personnel who may be experiencing difficulties in finding more mainstream employment. 

The supported employment factory provides opportunities for these people to be productive workers realising their full potential. One particular feature of benefit to the Station was that SEQOL were easily able to accommodate some late changes of design, thus giving exactly the final product as required.

As a not-for-profit company, any surplus from the Enterprise Works is put back into developing services for people, a win-win for all concerned with which RAF Brize Norton is pleased to be associated.
