Osborne Donate Winter Clothing to Local Charities

In the run up to the cold weather of winter, leading family owned construction company Osborne have teamed up with Swindon’s SEQOL to provide local charities with lots of warm outdoor clothing.

Osborne, founded in 1966, have just announced a fresh new rebranding moving away from a traditional blue to a lively, yet caring magenta. The rebranding has resulted in a surplus of old branded corporate clothing. Rather than sending the old clothing to landfill, Osborne approached SEQOL to find out if by using their network of charities and social causes in the Wiltshire area they could put the clothing to much better use.

Hundreds of items of clothing, which Osborne employees have collected, will be kindly donated to eight charities which support disadvantaged and vulnerable people in the Swindon and Wiltshire area. Osborne employees have also taken it upon themselves to gather unused personal clothing to donate alongside the unused uniforms.

These charities include Women’s Aid, the Bobby Van Trust, Innerflame, Swindon Food Bank, Swindon Restore, Soldiers off the Streets, Parkinsons UK (Swindon and District) and the Swindon Advocacy Movement.

Kindly, the items of clothing are being de-branded by Dressability at no charge and will be distributed according to the charities’ needs. Organisations such as Parkinson UK and the Bobby Van will use the clothing to aid their fundraisers in the upcoming colder months. Women’s Aid will use the clothing for women who arrive at their refuges. The clothes will also be distributed to people in crisis allowing them to keep warm in the winter months by The Food bank and Soldiers off the Streets.

Dave Long, Account Manager for SEQOL, who is leading the project, said: “Osborne is heavily dedicated to looking after the communities in which they work and this commitment fits well with SEQOL’s ethos of helping people make the most of their lives.”

Jason Everard, who led the project for Osborne said; “We are passionate about supporting these charities and want make a positive impact on the communities in which we work.  We take our social responsibility seriously and we hope that by donating our old branded clothing in this way, we can make a real difference to people’s lives.”
