September Talk with Jodie Fraser from Fraser Allen Estate Management
September is here. It's the month when autumn officially arrives - the autumn equinox fell on September 22. What does this month hold for you and your business?
Today we're talking to Jodie Fraser who is managing director of Fraser Allen Estate Management, a multi award winning property management company specialising in residential block management.
Jodie's team has offices in Cheltenham and Bristol and support block management all over the South West.
How has September been in your business?
We are experiencing an exciting period of growth, so we are consolidating our internal processes, we’re growing our team and it’s all hands-on deck with so much communication.
It’s also a great time to look forward and planning all the building work our clients have been thinking about over the summer. Getting the properties winter ready and planning out the building works.
What are your personal plans for this month?
It’s a celebratory time of the year for me, we’ve just celebrated our wedding anniversary, it’s my birthday at the start of October so I am hatching a plan for a few days away.
September is also known as ‘organic’ month – do you shop, dress, or behave with green ethics in mind?
I do like a women’s clothes brand called Baukjen and really admired the fact that they achieved B Corp certified this year.

As a business who manages property we have a policy regarding household recycling and encourage (and enforce) where we can recycling across all our blocks.
World Gratitude Day takes place this month – what are you grateful for at the moment?
I am so grateful that my business has continued to grow despite lockdown.
I’m grateful for my health - as a small business owner self-care is so important; and that my family are safe and continue to be in good health.
Who are you grateful for at the moment? Up to three people.
I’m grateful to my team and our wider support crew:
To Alice and Linda for keeping the wheels turning and Ben for being so dependable!
What are your hopes for business in general this year?
I think that as we get back to a sense of a new normal, we will continue to experience growth due to our approach to customer service and our traditional values.
We will finish the year with improved processes, a brand new business portal that we’re so excited about to help us manage our business and communicate more effectively.
Have you got any events planned you’d like to shout about – either that you are running or attending?
I am co-hosting a FREE Property and Legal Advice Clinic with Andrew Turner from Hughes Paddison a leading personal and commercial law firm in Cheltenham on Friday 5th November 9am – 1pm for the Small Business 100.
It’s totally FREE and brilliant for anyone who lives in a leasehold property and needs advice.
It will be at our offices in Cheltenham, and we’ll share more information about it on social media in the coming weeks.
Have you got any services or special offers you’d like to mention?
I am encouraging everyone to start planning for the winter months. We are getting in touch with our clients and initiating these conversations.
Building materials are soaring in prices so it’s best to be prepared, get the quotes now, locking the prices and start saving for the work.
And finally, as a bit of fun, September marks Teddy Bear Day? Do you have your childhood teddy bear – or are you a bit of a kid with ‘grown up’ teddy bears?
Being a mother to a toddler my house is full of teddy bears. My daughter’s favourites are her Peter Rabbit and her bunnies – she carries them everywhere!
