Employment On the Increase

Outsource UK Ltd, who specialise in placements for IT personnel, have seen a rise in appointments of both temporary and permanent staff over the past few months.

The Company’s success is reflecting a national picture, which indicates that permanent employment is at a six-month high, whilst the use of temporary workers is also growing.

The Recruitment and Employment Confederation and accountancy firm KPMG published their Report on Jobs this week, drawing on data provided by recruitment consultancies, which highlighted an increase in job vacancies and modest rise in pay rates.   

Outsource M.D. Paul Jameson said:   “I believe the economy is now improving after a difficult five years, and we are seeing the first sustained period of a positive jobs market.   With offices in Swindon, Manchester, Stoke-on-Trent and London we can really have an overview of the national picture.”

“We have recently welcomed two new Branch managers, plus four apprentices and we are now able to focus on a strategy for growth.   We feel cautiously confident that hopes for an improvement in the jobs market are finally becoming a reality.”

According to the report, which provides the most comprehensive guide to the UK labour market, there were small regional and sector variations.

The Midlands, North and South all registered solid growth of permanent placements during May, whereas London saw a moderate decline. 

Demand was particularly high in the private sector with strong growth in both permanent and temporary vacancies. 

Engineering remained the most sought-after permanent staff category during May.  All other types registered higher demand, apart from Construction where a slight reduction in demand was recorded.
