Town bring in young former Galway United goalkeeper

Swindon Town have completed the signing of 19-year-old goalkeeper Conor Brann following his release from Galway United. Total Sport’s Joe Acklam reports on the signing.

The 19-year-old has previously be on trial with Ipswich Town in January of this year and has earned international recognition, having been called up to train with the Republic of Ireland under-19 squad.

Brann is also a qualified referee with the FAI and did that alongside playing in the youth side at Galway and regularly training with the first-team squad.

Scott Lindsey told club media after bringing in the ‘keeper: “He’s a quality keeper and we have really high hopes for him, so it’s great he’s now part of our squad.

“He’s a gifted lad with a great attitude. He trains well and has huge potential, and I believe we can play a huge part in his development moving forward.”

Technical Director Sandro Di Michele added: ““Conor is a young goalkeeper with a lot of talent and is an exciting one for the future.

“He has huge potential and I’m looking forward to seeing him grow here at the football club.”
