Swindon Town's latest results and how are the team's chances looking after the start of the 2nd League

The Championship, League 2 season started on the weekend of July 30th and will be going on until the break which will be for the Qatar 2022 world cup. To that, the fixtures put to take over the weekend of November 12th and 13th will be the last before players are called forth by their countries for preparations of the Winter World Cup.

With League 2 score being hot right now, the table is being topped by Stevenage with 31 points after beating Swindon Town 2-0. The two teams clashed on the 8th of October in Stevenage’s home ground with the home team pocketing their two goals through Jordan Roberts. This loss put Swindon Town in 10th position on the table.

How did Swindon Town do in their latest match with stevenage?

Despite them trying hard to get an equalizer after the first goal, the attempts of Swindon Town were thoroughly diffused and completely taken over as Roberts bagged a second goal. Swindon were convinced of a penalty for a handball against Rose 20 minutes before the end of the game which was quickly waved off as the handball was dismissed. With the visitors trying to dominate the last few minutes of the game, Stevenage did their best to slow them down and the play ended without Town bagging any shots on target.

What is the team's current position

But what does this mean for Swindon Town? Having played thirteen matches since the season started, Swindon Town has won five matches, drawn in five and lost three matches. This puts the team in 10th position with 20 points, which is eleven points behind the current leaders.

Scott Lindsey’s boys will be hoping to recover their loss to Boro as they host Colchester United at County Ground on Saturday, October 15th. Town made one change to their lineup to the side as they beat Newport County 1-0 on Tuesday, October 4th, with Louis Reed coming on as a substitute for Saidou Khan.

Swindon Town dropped from the 6th position after winning against Doncaster Rover and Grimsby Town in September but they are optimistic of being able to win the league. According to defender Remeao Hutton, Swindon Town is one of the best teams in the League and that they are just underperforming. The defender said that he feels that they are underachieving and should have won in some games where they had a draw.

What are the team's chances?

Given that the league still has a long way to go, Swindon Town is expecting to go up the table as they feel they have what it takes to go to the top positions. Given that the team is only one point away from being in the seventh position, they are recovering well enough from the difficult start they have had and are hoping to finish in the play-off places.

Swindon Town is still going strong and is expected to go even better.
