PRESS CONFERENCE LIVE: Swindon Town v Sutton United

Good morning and thank you for joining us for another Monday morning press conference live blog as Swindon Town welcome Sutton United for the first of five remaining home fixtures in League Two. Join Total Sport Swindon's Ryan Walker from 8.20am as he speaks to Swindon Town boss Ben Garner to preview tomorrow's County Ground clash.

8:59AM

That concludes today's press conference. Thank you for joining us.

8:59AM

Garner on 5 wins prediction for playoffs:

"We have the potential to win every game. If you look at every game in isolation then we have the ability to beat anyone in this league. We've just got to take that game-by-game. If we can beat Sutton then it puts us in a much better place for the next game and so on. [5 wins] is certainly achievable and I think automatic promotion is still very realistic for us because we have the ability to win every game we play between now and the end of the season. If we perform then we have the potential to win every game."

8:57AM

Garner on Gladwin, Barry, and Tomlinson:

"Ben Gladwin's scan is tomorrow so we will know more then but Louie Barry and Joe Tomlinson are both progressing really well and are ahead of schedule. Hopefully we will have good news on them in terms of availability in the next couple of weeks."

8:56AM

Garner on Jack Payne fitness:

"We still have to have some caution just with the amount of time that Jack was out. We still have a lot of games to go this season and not put him at risk. Fitness-wise he looks strong and probably could have done another ten minutes on Saturday but I didn't want to take that risk because the final 10 minutes is the red zone where injuries could happen. He will be a key player for us in the run-in."

8:54AM

Garner on McKirdy enjoying his 'Main Man' role at Swindon:

"I think he does enjoy that without any shadow of a doubt. I think any player that has the talent and ability of Harry they want they and they want that challenge. It's important to have that mentality, not arrogance, but certainly, self-confidence and self-belief is really important. It will give us a huge lift to have him back tomorrow. He didn't need an injection in his ankle as we got him a good period of rest and some good rehab but if he does need an injection in the future then we will do that."

8:52AM

Garner on County Ground purchase meeting:

"It's my role to run the club on the pitch but we are also trying collectively to do that off the pitch. From the owners perspective, a big part is the regeneration of the ground and I think the plans look fantastic. Hopefully everything will go as smoothly as possible and over the coming years I'm sure the club will go from strength to strength both on and off the pitch."

8:44AM

Garner on Sutton away game earlier in season:

"I don't think they will be much different from that game in terms of how they play and it will be about repeating what they do well. Their home record has been very good this season but playing on our pitch will give us more space and suit us better."

8:43AM

Garner on momentum after Saturday:

"We are very good and feel they are in a good place. We are back to business and were back in yesterday. We have had a reasonably good run and we want to continue with that momentum making it 6 wins from 8 tomorrow."

8:41AM

Garner on International call-ups:

"We have had some players set to be called up but we have to wait for all the notifications to come through before looking at whether we play the Forest Green game. We will wait to find out exactly who is going and if it is 3 or more then we have the option to postpone it and I have already had a conversation with Rob Edwards at Forest Green."

8:40AM

Garner on schedule:

"I have promised players a rest after Saturday and we have a big week this week starting with Sutton and then Crawley. It will be nice for games to then settle down a little bit which gives us more recovery and more time on the training ground."

8:39AM

Garner on full-backs:

"I think the Bradford change with full-backs was because it happened so quick and we put AK in a position he felt most comfortable. For Saturday I felt it was better the other way round in terms of how we wanted to play. Both AK and Rob Hunt can play either side of the pitch and I thought AK did really well on Saturday."

8:37AM

Garner on injuries:

"Harry McKirdy is back in but we have one player who is very doubtful due to one tackle put in on him on Saturday. He won't train today. Mandela Egbo can play down either wing and is very composed when on the ball. He showed composure on Saturday and played a huge part in us getting that goal."

8:36AM

Garner on teams in the playoff mix:

"Bristol Rovers won at the weekend as well and it's going to be an interesting run-in with lots of teams in the playoffs set to play each other still. I don't look too far ahead and just take things one game at a time. If we perform to our levels then tomorrow will lead to three points."

8:35AM

Garner on Sutton

"They did incredibly well to get promoted last season and their aim this year would have been to avoid relegation, they have overachieved without any doubt. We respect them but we want to win tomorrow night and open up a gap above them."

8:34AM

Garner on Sutton:

"Sutton have had a phenomenal season and are going to Wembley now in the cup and still in the mix for promotion. They are very well organised and play the way they play very well with direct football and doing well with set pieces. They have a clear style of play where everyone knows their jobs and what they are doing. We have to make it our type of game and you have to battle against Sutton."

8:33AM

Garner on late winners:

"The group has got the trait to not give up in abundance and is a key trait we want in the team. The pleasing thing Saturday is we really deserved the three points and for that to go in is great. Dion Conroy wasn't due to be in the box but because it was late in the gam he asked the question and he was there to nod it home."

8:31AM

Ben Garner has now joined us.
