Preparing For The Golf Season At Basset Down
Basset Down Golf Club's resident pro Ian Bolt gives Total Sport a few quick words on what to look forward to over on the fairways, as the winter months are now finally behind us.
"Well what a winter we had, rain, rain, rain and not a lot of golf being played.
Here at Basset Down Golf Club we fair much better than many of our local clubs because of our exceptionally well drained course, but even we've had to close the course on the off day.
As golfers in this country, at this time of year, we are almost wishing our lives away. Waiting for the light nights and warmer temperatures to return.
In the meantime we should now be starting our preparation for the coming season.
It's the ideal time to make those important swing changes with your PGA coach. The cost of a series of lessons will be a small price to pay for better golf and lots more enjoyment from the coming season.
So the next two months is crucial preparation time. Here at Basset Down Golf Course we have a 20 bay flood lit (and more importantly in the cold - heated!) driving range which is a perfect environment to practice in the current temperatures."
