Premier League Football Closest to Swindon

The Premier League is considered one of the best leagues in the world, and with more big-name stars joining over the summer, the standard is set to get even higher in the 2022/23 campaign.

Swindon was fortunate to play in the 1993-94 Premier League season and hopefully, the Robins can return to the top flight in the near future. But for now, if you are looking to watch a Premier League game live, here are the three nearest stadiums to the town.

Southampton (St Mary’s) – 62 miles

The closest Premier League ground to Swindon at 62 miles in distance is St Mary’s, home to Southampton Football Club. This season will be their 11th consecutive campaign in the division, after being promoted from the Championship in 2012.

Southampton finished 15th in the table last season and their fans will be hoping for a much better campaign this time around. They are currently priced at odds 4/1 in the Premier League odds for a top 10 finish, something they have not achieved since 2017.

One of the Saints’ standout signings over the summer was Joe Aribo. The Nigeria international has been impressive in the Scottish Premiership for Rangers over the last three years. He helped the Gers win the SPL title in 2021 and was also a key part of the side that reached the Europa League final last season.

Brentford (Brentford Community Stadium) – 74 miles

Brentford reached the Premier League for the first time in their history in 2021. In their debut campaign in the league, they finished up as a respectable 13th of 20 teams. They also reached the quarter-finals of the EFL Cup.

The west London club are 74 miles away from Swindon, so it takes just over one hour and 20 minutes in a car to get to the Brentford Community Stadium. If you want to leave your car at home, it is easily accessible by train.

The Bees will be hoping to kick on this season and build upon what they achieved last year. They have a very good manager in Thomas Frank and a squad who should be very familiar with the trials and tribulations of the Premier League by now.

Fulham (Craven Cottage) – 78 miles

Craven Cottage is one of the most unique football grounds, not just in England, but also in Europe. It is 78 miles away from Swindon and it is based just on the bank of the River Thames.

Fulham won the Championship last season, which secured their spot back in the Premier League. In their previous two appearances in the top flight, the Cottagers have been relegated, so they will be hoping to do enough to stay up this time around.

Bernd Leno and Andreas Pereira have joined Fulham from Arsenal and Manchester United respectively this summer. Those two players bring a lot of quality and Premier League experience to Marco Silva’s squad.

For information on how to purchase a ticket, head to the official club’s website. You will also find out everything you need to know about your visit to the respective ground.
