PLAYOFF RIDER RATINGS: Swindon Robins (107) v (71) Wolverhampton Wolves

SWINDON ROBINS stormed into the Speedway Great Britain Premiership final last night after overturning the Wolverhampton Wolves 58-32 at the Abbey Stadium with the Robins dominating over the two legs with a final 107-71 aggregate victory. Total Sport Swindon's Ryan Walker gives his Robins rider ratings following the action.

Jason Doyle (10)

Sensational. Magnificent. Outstanding. We really are running out of superlatives to describe Jason Doyle as he led the Swindon Robins into the Premiership Grand Final having scored a 12-point maximum against Wolverhampton. Was quick out of the gates all evening and was rarely bothered by opposition riders. Team rode well with Adam Ellis as Swindon secured countless 5-1 heat maximums.

His experience in the pits counted for just as much as his on-track performances as the Robins Captain worked relentlessly to help his teammates find the right set-ups over the two legs. A terrific performance from the 2017 World Champion and now he will have his sights on lifting a third league title in Robins kevlars.

Adam Ellis (9)

Having been Mr.Consistent for the majority of the 2019 season, Adam Ellis has certainly turned things up a gear as he took a paid 13 points from last night’s proceedings. Joined Doyle for a 5-1 maximum in the opening heat of the evening as Swindon got off to the perfect start before going on to score 9 points from his remaining four rides.

Secured Swindon’s place in the Premiership final partnering Doyle for Swindon’s fifth heat maximum of the evening and was then nominated alongside Batchelor in heat fifteen. A brilliant evening for Ellis who will now be keen to back up recent performances by bringing the title back to the Abbey Stadium.

Tobiasz Musielak (6.5)

A strange evening for Tobiasz Musielak saw the Polish racer take an impressive first place in his opening ride but subsequently fail to score in his next two outings. Looked a bit off the pace compared to his teammates but bounced back well in heat twelve to join Jensen for yet another heat maximum. Musielak was key to Swindon’s successful title campaign in 2017 and will now have a big role to play as the Robins look to become Premiership champions once again.

Rasmus Jensen (8)

Struggled with bike problems in the first leg at Monmore Green but had no such problems last night looking super quick and pulling off some impressive overtakes down the back-straight. Opened his evenings account unbeaten in his first two outings but was eventually beaten by Jacob Thorsell in heat nine.

Was brave to ride the outside line in heat fourteen and pulled off an outstanding move by slingshotting himself out of bend two and splitting the Wolves reserves to take the victory. Jensen has been a game-changer for Swindon this season and will be hopeful of continuing his impressive form going into the Grand Final.

Troy Batchelor (9.5)

Arguable Swindon’s best rider of the year saw Troy Batchelor top scorer for the Robins last night scoring 13+1. Timed his gates to perfection all evening and once he hit the front no one had a chance of passing the Australian.

Was unbeaten by an opposition rider from his four programmed rides but saw his chances of taking a paid maximum spoiled by Kyle Howarth in heat fifteen. Batchelor has shown his class this season to once again establish himself as one of the leagues best riders, and a league title would top off a fantastic year for the 32-year-old.

Ellis Perks (5.5)

Demonstrated his class this season by scoring am important four points in the away leg on Wednesday evening but struggled last night with just a solitary point to his name. Deserved more from last night and his performances certainly didn’t replicate the one point scored. Perks has formed a dangerous partnership with Claus Vissing in reserve and he will need to be at his best for Monday’s trip to Ipswich.

Claus Vissing (9)

Took the rider of the night award after scoring 7+2 from his four programmed rides with the Denmark-born racer looking lightning fast all evening. Rode extremely well in heat twelve to finish ahead of both Wolves’ Rory Schlein and Ryan Douglas and now Vissing will have his eyes set on lifting the title with Swindon.
