PLAYER RATINGS: Swindon Town (4) v (2) Burton

SWINDON TOWN earned their second win of the season with a dazzling free-flowing attacking performance at the County Ground earlier today as they put four past Burton Albionand moving up to sixth in the League One table. Total Sport Swindon's Ryan Walker gives his Robins player ratings following the victory.

GK: Matej Kovar (6.5)

Couldn’t have done much to stop either of Burton’s goals and made a good save to deny Lucas Akins in the 14th minute. However, he appears to be his own worst enemy at times as was the case in the 54th minute when he took too long on the ball and was almost dispossessed by Kane Hemmings.

A solid showing but must improve when playing the ball out from the back.

RB: Paul Caddis (7)

A typical performance from Paul Caddis saw him deal with rare defensive threats well whilst also contributing with good crosses into the box when in attack. Linked up well with debutant Jordan Stevens throughout and produced a brilliant cross into the box to get the assist for Mathieu Baudry’s goal.

CB: Mathieu Baudry (7.5)

Scored his first goal for the club with a brilliant bullet header to put Swindon firmly in control of the game and looked confident in bringing the ball out from the back. Defended well when required to do so with some calm clearances and was a reassuring presence in Swindon’s backline.

CB: Zeki Fryers (7)

It was an overall solid performance from Zeki Fryers as Swindon produced a dazzling attacking display at the County Ground. Endured a relatively uneventful game and rarely put a foot wrong. A good showing from Fryers.

LB: Rob Hunt (7)

Looked lively throughout and offered Swindon space by helping to stretch the pitch when Town were attacking. Didn’t have much to do in what was a dominant display from the hosts with Hunt producing the typical performance fans have come to expect from him.

CM: Matt Smith (8)

Has really grown into his role alongside Grant in midfield and produced another brilliant performance. Looked sharp all game and was constantly pressing when Swindon lost possession. Grabbed an assist with a delicate through ball for Jonny Smith in the second half but will be disappointed not to have got his own goal after having a chance to shoot in the 14th minute.

CM: Anthony Grant (7)

Constantly pressed to win the ball back for Swindon and broke up play in the middle of the park, forcing Burton to go wide when they were in possession. Wasn’t as effective with his passing or in helping to turn defence into attack but a solid display nonetheless.

RW: Jordan Stevens (8)

Making his debut for the club, Jordan Stevens showed Swindon fans exactly what they have to look forward to this season as he opened the scoring with a neat finish across the keeper to give Town an early lead.

Displayed his blistering speed throughout and his direct running wreaked havoc amongst the Burton defence. Looked tired in the last 15 mins but match fitness will improve with game time.

CAM: Jack Payne (8.5)

Grabbed two assists in what was probably his best performance in a Swindon shirt as the Robins took all three points against difficult opposition. Ran tirelessly all match and was always positive in looking for the forward pass when on the ball. A brilliant showing from the STFC playmaker.

LW: Jonny Smith (7)

Recovered from the asthma attack he suffered against Blackpool to start today’s game and scored his first league goal for Swindon with a delightful close-range chip over Garratt in the 60th minute. Used his pace well to get into attacking positions but was too often poor in his decision-making.

ST: Brett Pitman (7.5)

Was the third Swindon player to score their first goal for the club today with his shot from close-range in the 30th minute making it two-nil. Used his strength well to hold up the ball on countless occasions and stung the palms of Garrett with a powerful effort from outside the box in the 59th minute.

SUBSTITUTIONS:

Hallam Hope (6)

Looked positive when came on and used his pace to Swindon’s advantage when Town were playing on the counter-attack. A good cameo performance from Hope.

Dion Donohue (N/A)

Made his second debut for the club after signing with Swindon earlier in the week but didn’t have time to make much of an impact.

Jonathan Grounds (N/A)

Came on for his debut in the 90th minute.
