Kaine Kesler-Hayden recalled by Aston Villa

Swindon Town wing-back Kaine Kesler-Hayden has been recalled from his loan move at the County Ground by parent club Aston Villa. Total Sport Swindon has more on the breaking news below.

Fresh from signing a new six-year contract at Aston Villa, Kaine Kesler-Hayden arrived in Swindon over the summer seeking to fulfil his potential that saw the talented youngster held in such high regard. Making 19 starts for Town during his time at the club, Kesler-Hayden became a key figure in Ben Garner's promotion-chasing side as his performances earned him call-ups to the England U20 side.

Swindon Head Coach expected Kesler-Hayden to stay with the club until the end of the season, saying in a recent interview: “I don’t think any of our loan players will get called back,” making this mornings news a tough pill to swallow for the club and their fans.

A statement published on the Swindon Town website read:

"There is no doubt that Kesler-Hayden will be forever remembered for scoring the goal that sent Town through to the Third Round of the Emirates FA Cup, while he also produced a hugely impressive performance against a talent-laden Manchester City team in what turned out to his final appearance in a Swindon shirt.

Everyone at Swindon Town Football Club would like to thank Kaine for his considerable efforts during his time with us, and we wish you the very best of luck for the future - we have no doubt you will go on to achieve big things in the game!"

Kaine Kesler-Hayden also gave a farewell message to the club's website saying:

"I just want to say a massive thank you to all the fans who turned up at every single game and have supported me throughout my time," Kesler-Hayden said.

"I've really developed since I've been here and credit goes to the Gaffer, Chores and all the other staff and the players for making me feel welcome.

"All the credit to them and to the fans.

"I couldn't have gotten this far in my development without the help of others and without the support of others.

"Like I said before, big credit to the fans, the Gaffer, Scott Lindsey, Scott Marshall, all the staff behind the scenes, the Physios, the Sports Science team and just a massive thank you to everyone.

"This club will always have a massive place in my heart."
