Keshi Anderson "gives Swindon Town another dimension" manager David Flitcroft says

Although Luke Norris got most of the post-match headlines on Saturday, David Flitcroft waxed lyrical about his other striker, Keshi Anderson, too.

Anderson scored his first goal for his latest loan club, which he signed for on deadline day, when he made it 2-0 against Stevenage on Saturday.

It was his fourth appearance for Swindon, who have tried to sign him in the past, most notably last summer when he opted to go to Bolton instead.

His time at the Macron Stadium only led to eight matches and a solitary goal and so moved, again on loan, to Northampton in January, but again that only ended in three goals and 14 appearances for the Cobblers.

His new manager, David Flitcroft, is still in the process of playing Anderson, 22, into fitness but he has been suitably impressed by the Crystal Palace striker thus far, with Saturday being the highlight to date.

"Everytime Keshi got it I think we looked like we could score," Flitcroft said.

"Keshi's given us another dimension because when he gets it and he's running at players, his head's up so there's a composure to him and they've (him and Luke Norris) got a very good understanding from a support aspect.

"Keshi's a new signing, we brought him in, he'd only played a couple of games before we brought him in so it was always a case of playing him into form and playing him into fitness, which we have done and we'll see the best of him.

"Certainly at home, you can see the fans, they get behind him. I think the Swindon fans do like his ability and the way he runs with the football so he's someone who vibes off that and he's had a good start to his (Swindon) career.

"I've been delighted with him, he has got fantastic quality, I've now got to get the group of players, when he does break and when he does carry it, up to speed and try and get them supporting him even quicker than we have done today.

"When he's away from you, you're not really catching him so that's the last bit we've got to work on really with Kesh."

Meanwhile, Dion Conroy's injury looks worse than first feared. There has been no official released diagnosis yet, but on Tuesday night striker Harry Smith tweeted: "Devastated for my boy Dion Conroy, you'll be back better than ever. Everyone is here to support your recovery."

If it is indeed as serious as Smith seems to suggest, Swindon will only have two senior centre-backs at their disposal. Flitcroft will be allowed to sign a free-agent centre-back if he so wishes but transfers and loan signings are out of the question until January.
