Website 0330 002 1993At just 22, Davison joins Swindon looking to prove himself to parent club Charlton Athletic after a mixed season in League One scoring twice in 15 league games.
Swindon are the ninth club of Davison's relatively short career with the attacker beginning his senior career at Peterborough United before going on to enjoy loan spells at St Neots Town and Wisbech Town.
In 2018, Davison signed a permanent deal with Enfield Town, where after scoring 16 goals in 21 games he was picked up by Charlton Atheltic and scored on his first-team Championship debut against West Bromwich Albion.
After an impressive start to life for The Addicks, Davison was subsequently loaned out to Working and Forest Green Rovers before returning to Charlton for the start of this season.
Davison has proven himself at a higher level but arrives at Swindon Town seeking to replicate the form that initially sealed a move to Charlton.
Swindon Head Coach Ben Garner has made a habit of developing players whose careers seem to be at a crossroads, with Town's top scorer Harry McKirdy a clear example. But with just half a season to make his impression, time is against the Swindon boss to get the best out of Davison.
Preferring to operate as a central striker, Davison is expected to partner Harry McKirdy following the departure of Tyreece Simpson and is expected to feature in Swindon's trip to Colchester this weekend.
Verdict: Josh Davison's track record shows he clearly possesses the ability to be a big player for Swindon Town, but with only half a season to make his impact and Swindon in a promotion battle, the onus is on him to hit the ground running.
