January Talk with Sarah Pardey

It's 2022! Another year has begun and we're still facing challenges in business. What are your tips for success this year? Today we're talking to Sarah Pardey, of Sarah Jane Bridal, Bridal Boutique in Parkstone, Poole, Dorset.

What are your marketing or PR tips for 2022?
We always like to share our news and updates with our brides and keeping our Facebook and Instagram pages current and informative is key for us. Bridal is so visual so using good images and video is important.

Who are your top business buddies in your corner for 2022?
Our seamstress Sylwia of Wedding Dress To Be, is so important to us as we can ensure that our brides will get the perfect dress fit. Sylwia has over 25 years' experience in her field and is very professional and attentive.

We have been working with A Touch Of Class Events UK who supply and create the most stunning displays for wedding venues. We currently have their beautiful blossom trees in our boutique that give such an impact.

Jess at Model Makeovers is a fantastic make up artist and we would highly recommend her for our brides. She has attended bridal shoots with us and is lovely to work with.

What are your business ethics for 2022?
Protect our customers. We always ensure that everyone’s safety comes first when it comes to Covid-19 during their visit at Sarah Jane Bridal so we keep up to date with all the current guidelines that apply to our boutique.

Be aware of changes in the supply chain. It is extremely important to us to work closely with our suppliers and our brides. We are always aware of delivery timescales as certainly recently with the high demand there have been longer lead times.

Know your product. We have full training with each of our designers so we are fully aware of all custom changes and colour choices available.

What attributes are you looking for in staff/suppliers this year?
Our brides are the most important part to our business so any staff and suppliers we work with must feel the same. Attention to detail and nothing is too much trouble is our motto.

We only work with suppliers who are professional and that only ever use top quality materials and are known for their impeccable designs. We ensure we work together closely with every dress order made and who offer regular meetings to keep us up to date with latest trends and any changes.

What will you be investing in this year?
We have two exciting new designers coming to our boutique in 2022, Allure Romance and Ellis Bridals that are both modern, contemporary collections.

I will also be continuing to create stunning window displays which have become somewhat of a trademark for my boutique!

What will you be doing differently?
Our new website is being launched in January to give our brides all the information they need and showcase some of our exquisite dresses.

We have just completed our first full year trading and are growing quickly so we are looking forward to growing the team later this year.

What are you doing for charity or community this year?
Twice a year when we receive our new collections for the boutique we have a sample sale to make way for our new dresses.

We donate some of these dresses to Julia’s House charity who have a wonderful bridal section at their Creekmoor store and help support families caring for children with a life-limiting or life-threatening conditions.

Any special offers  you’d like to mention?
To make way for our new collections arriving in the Spring we will be holding a fantastic Sample Sale 4thJanuary – 22nd January. Many dresses will be retailing at up to 70% off their ticket price.

And finally:
Remember, it’s not just a dress, it’s the dress you’ll remember forever.
