The Pear Tree at Purton is a beautiful 17 bedroom hotel and restaurant based in Purton, just outside Swindon
The Pear Tree at Purton is one of the finest small privately owned country house hotels and restaurants in Wiltshire. The Young family’s Cotswold stone former vicarage is set in seven glorious acres and offers visitors delightful accommodation and delicious food. The venue is also excellently equipped for weddings and conferences in Swindon.
Being only five miles from junction 16 of the M4 and Swindon it is within easy reach of London, Heathrow Airport and Bristol. It is also an ideal base from which to explore the numerous nearby West Country attractions including the Georgian City of Bath, Malmesbury, Cirencester and the stone circles of Stonehenge and Avebury.
The hotel is dog-friendly and child-friendly hotel with several bedrooms on the ground floor making it ideal for those with mobility issues.

Each of the 17 individually decorated rooms and suites is named after a character associated with the village of Purton. For example, Anne Hyde, the mother of Queen Mary and Queen Anne, James Kibblewhite the runner, Nevil Maskelyne the Astronomer Royal and EH Budd the cricketer.
All the rooms have private bathrooms with over-bath showers, (one has a walk-in shower rather than a bath); . They also have direct dial telephones, digital television, rubber ducks, hairdryer, trouser press, safes, CD radio, Kettle Trays, fresh fruit and home-made shortbread.
The Pear Tree at Purton Dining:
The award winning Conservatory Restaurant serves modern British food using the finest, often local, ingredients and is open to non-residents seven days a week.
The restaurant was the first in Wiltshire to receive the Wiltshire Breakfast Award, given to restaurants who serve at least 5 ingredients sourced from the county. This includes sausages and bacon from Sandridge Farm in Bromham, jams made in the village, honey from the Hotel's bee hives and eggs from Purton House.
Head Chef Alan Postill and his team specialise in modern English cooking using the very best of fresh and local ingredients. The restaurant serves an individually priced a la carte menu at lunch and dinner with a range of daily lunchtime specials also available from just £10.
