Located in Stanton Fitzwarren, this 74-hectare landscape is one of the best places in Wiltshire to find conkers that will conquer the toughest of opponents with it’s forest floors certain to be littered with some of the best conkers around this Autumn.
This astonishing local nature reserve boasts a beautiful expansive woodland and picturesque walking routes which means you’ll certainly find conkers of all shapes and sizes as you explore the vastness of Stanton Country Park. You can find conkers throughout the park but the biggest and best conkers are found in the field where the sheep are.
If you’re taking the kids out conker hunting then make sure to keep an eye out for some of the local wildlife with deers, owls, and rare birds all seen around the park at this time of year.
Lydiard Park

Throughout the 260 acres of wide open space that Lydiard Park has to offer, you will find a selection of amazing conkers to pick, choose, and test the strength of as you fill up your pockets.

Coate Water Country Park

Packed in the summer months, Coate Water Country Park is one of Swindon’s most popular outdoor areas to relax and soak up the sun. But as Summer turns to Autumn and the trees become bare, it transforms into one of Swindon’s best conker hunting destinations. As you walk around the open landscape of Coate Water you’ll find loads of conkers to take your pick from with the best ones located near the gates on your way in.
If you’re a fan of beautiful views then you’re in luck because this is also one of the best places to sit and watch the sunset in Swindon.
Westonbirt Arboretum

Westonbirt Arboretum is one of the South-West’s most famous Autumn walking destinations and as such is also a fantastic place to find freshly dropped conkers. Located near Tetbury, The National Arboretum is renowned for its stunning nature trail that boasts over 2,500 different species of plants and trees from all over the globe, making it a great destination to find brilliant conkers this Autumn as you take a walk around the stunning scenery of the Arboretum.
Westonbirt Arboretum is also one of the best Autumn picture locations so make sure to take your camera and soak up the explosions of colour on show.

Savernake Forest

Now if you don’t mind driving further afield then you’ll find that Savernake Forest in the south of Marlborough is a brilliant destination for finding amazing conkers that will leave your friends in awe. Dating back thousands of years, the forest is littered with some of the countries oldest trees, which luckily for us drop some of the countries best conkers! Take a trip out of Swindon and you won’t be left disappointed with the autumnal riches that await at the stunning Savernake Forest.
