SWINDON TOWN CENTRE COMMERCIAL PROPERTY SEARCH PLATFORM LAUNCHED

inSwindon BID has officially launched their new commercial property search on their website and has welcomed 17 new businesses to the town centre since June 2020.

This platform is designed for both landlords and agents and for those seeking to rent or buy commercial property in the town centre. Landlords and agents will have the ability to upload their property onto the website, providing a full overview of the property and what it offers to prospective tenants and new businesses.

A spokesperson for FI Real Estate Management said: “As a close partner of inSwindon BID Company, it’s been our pleasure to collaborate with them and support this new initiative which we know will help businesses in the region to source new premises.

“We’ve been in Swindon for a number of years so understand the pressures there can be for businesses - large and small - to find the right location. Now that it’s launched, we’ll be using the platform to market our available spaces which currently include 3 Newbridge Square - located just a three-minute walk away from the train station.”

For businesses and entrepreneurs seeking new premises within the retail, hospitality and office sectors, this is the perfect opportunity to view all available properties in the town centre in one easy view. The Property Page identifies units which are available for sale, rent, shared occupancy and pop-ups. inSwindon BID is purely the facilitator of this platform. Landlords and prospective businesses are required to login to use this functionality of the town centre website, and any enquiries are dealt with directly between landlord and prospective tenant.

Anita Bellinger, inSwindon BID Manager, commented on what this means for the town centre: “There is a clear appetite for businesses wanting to open in the town centre as we’ve seen 17 open following the reopening of non-essential businesses in June 2020. However, we are aware that it can be challenging to find who the landlord or agent is of individual properties. We want to make it as easy as possible for prospective new businesses to find the perfect premises for them. By facilitating this platform, we’re able to provide a valuable solution that puts tenants and landlords in direct contact with one another.”

Cllr. Dale Heenan, SBC’s Cabinet Member for the town centre said: “Everyone knows the challenge of empty retail units in the town centre. InSwindon BID has identified a solution that will make the process of identifying the perfect premise as easy and straightforward as possible, whether it’s for an established business, an independent store or a start-up. All the details are in one place.

“The Council has just two empty properties available for rent and they will be listed their empty properties. FI Real Estate Management, owners of the Brunel Centre, and the Tri-Centre at Newbridge Square, are participating and many other owners have committed. This is all part of Swindon's town centre recovery plan and it is all about working in partnership, with InSwindon taking a lead as the voice of town centre businesses. I encourage every landlord, building owner and prospective business to register and see the opportunities available.”
