Monday 17th May Reopening: Sneak Peek of Old Town & Regent Circus
On Monday 17th May, the next reopening phase of indoor dining took place. We went and visited lots of local hot spots to see how they were getting on with welcoming customers back into their restaurants after 5 months.
Rays Ice Cream - Reopening Wednesday 19th of May for indoor dining. They have a small space for short stays or you can pick up one of their delicious ice creams and walk across to the park. Open every day except Monday & Tuesdays.
Mackenzies Bar & Kitchen - Reopened Monday 17th May. You will be greeted by a hand sanitiser pump and also their own track and trace QR Code which is easy to download via the app store on any mobile device. They have a large indoor dining area that features comfy sofas, socially distanced tables and multiple 2m distance signs. When the weather is nice they also offer their outdoor dining space as well.
Longs Bar - Newly refurbished, Longs Bar open for the first time since December and offer a fabulously modern indoor dining space. With track and trace signs and hand gel stands at the doors, indoor and outdoor seating areas, this restaurant and bar provides a safe space for a great night out or a delicious bite to eat. Now offering a downstairs bar area that has been transformed into a sophisticated, 1920s themed bar where you can enjoy deliciously fancy cocktails. Currently open for walk-ins only until June where you will be able to book.
Mario's Italian Restaurant - Located in Wood Street, this authentic Italian restaurant reopens their doors for the first time in 5 months. This relaxing and dimly lit restaurant serves an array of delicious tradtitional Italian dishes for either lunch or dinner. This spacious restaurant hosts a large number of socially-distanced tables, hand gel stations and track and trace signs.
Rudi's Bar - Beautiful outdoor dining space provided but now their indoor space has finally reopened and provides a modern and friendly atmosphere with a large bar, sports tvs and lots of comfortable table and chairs that are spaced 2 metres apart. You're greeted at the gate by their friendly staff who ensure you scan the QR code on their track and trace sign before entering the restaurant and bar.
Jewel in the Crown - One of Swindon's most divine Indian restaurants reopened on Monday 17th May for lunch and dinner. Serving delicious Indian classics in a very spacious and beautifully decorated restaurant. Hand gel stations and track and trace signs are situated at the entrance and throughout the restaurant are 2m floor stickers to ensure all customers are following all health and safety guidelines.
Lamaya Lebanese Kitchen & Bar - This authentic Lebanese restaurant opened for indoor dining and provided track and trace and hygiene stations before being seated. Their big, bright and open space allows for multiple tables and chairs to be socially distanced and spaced apart.
The Royal Oak - On Monday 17th of May they were preparing to reopen for indoor dining on the 20th of May. They'll be serving some delicious new dishes that they know you'll love. Until then you can watch sport and enjoy some delicious drinks and pizza at their bar from Tuesday 18th of May or sit outdoors daily from 3pm - 9pm Tuesday - Sunday.
